In 2012, Nissan released the current Altima to complete the battle of mid-size sedan cars. It was released with current updates to make it more reminiscent especially when you compare it to its big brother, Maxima. The front wheel drive chassis is the base for this car and some features are added inside as well as outside. We are happy to hear that 2018 Nissan Altima will be presented and in this model, Nissan will show you how they can give some improvements.

New Nissan Altima Front Angle

Although the details are quite limited, it sounds like Nissan will use a new modular platform to complete 2018 Nissan Altima and then it will be shared with other cars in the same class. We think that the chassis comes with front-wheel drive and it will be lighter to offer more rigid look than before. This can help the car to come with bigger dimension so that its design is more aggressive. Besides, the design is quite good with the evolutionary look to give aggressive appearance. Floating roof effect, slight coupe-inspired design, blacked out B and C pillars as well as wide design is the main highlight in this new generation.

As we mentioned already that the sloping roof can be presented and if this so, there will be wider cabin design than ever. It gives more room inside to complete the all-new interior look. It has more modern design with mature look. There will be no unappealing gray cabin, but it has more curvaceous look. Nicer air-vents will complete the dashboard and the center stack has impressive design with no fake chrome inserts for 2018 Nissan Altima.

We cannot tell you yet whether it will be a front or rear-wheel drive car. It seems that the company will discontinue the use of V6 engine. As far as we know, the current model was completed with 2.5 liter naturally aspirated engine and 3.5 liter V6. Two old powertrains might be kept for the base but probably they will offer all new turbocharged engines. What we can expect is the use of the old 2.5 liter that can be replaced with the new 1.6 liter turbocharged and inline-four mills. By using this engine, it is capable to provide 195 to 225 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. If you want more option, it can be Renault’s 2.0 liter turbocharged engine to provide a bit close to 300 hp for 2018 Nissan Altima.

Release Date and Price

2018 Nissan Altima will receive a new platform but it doesn’t mean that there will be a new price. It is expected to come with the base price about $23,000 or slightly over it.
