The previous model of 2018 Honda CR Z was released for US market but they had bad luck. Most buyers complained its performance that was too weak since the company mentioned that it is a good sporty compact car with the average fuel rating about 31 mpg, but its poor performance lead to bad condition. The model only capable to be sold about 3,600 units last year for American market and the poor and weak ratings forced the company to stop it from European as well as Australian markets. Now, they are trying to give best solution for their poor hybrid engine. They wouldn’t go at the same way as other automakers do by expanding hybrid platform. Honda will transform the hybrid to petrol.

Design

2018 CR Z is coming out with stylish design even much better than the previous model. Our reliable sources mentioned that the design will borrow from Honda Civic Type R as well as Acura NSX. It is also reported that the company will use the same platform as Honda Fit with the new look, thanks to its larger and lighter design for its bodywork. Some angular body lines are added as well as rear wings and folding side panels. This can improve its aerodynamic performance. Large aluminum wheels are also under their plan.

About the interior styling, they don’t give any official statement yet but we have high expectation that the cabin should be designed in sporty look just like sports car. They can start it by adding high-quality features to give ultimate comfort. The seats should be ergonomics with the support of leather upholstery and the driver-centered console can be added as well as the tilt and telescopic steering wheels. In addition, 2018 Honda CR Z might be provided with modern gadgets such as satellite navigation, touch screen instruments panel, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, premium audio system and Smartphone integration.

Engine

Move on the engine side that it will be designed with detuned 2.0 liter VTEC four-cylinder to generate more than 306 hp as well as 295 lb-ft of torque power. The engine is identical to Type R because the current engine was under big compliance. At the time of writing this report, 2018 Honda CR Z is still unknown for its transmission, but if it will use the same engine as Civic Type R, then the possible transmission to use is six-speed manual transmission. It is still possible if they go with auto transmission.
