2018 Volvo XC60
There are many automakers gain big popularity and attention because they have been creating best-selling crossovers. One of them is Volvo that will again launch their new 2018 Volvo XC60 which is still under the development. They are currently working to release it next year. The testing car has been spotted in Amsterdam with the camouflaged look.
Latest rumors mentioned that this new generation will go with SPA platform and it means that it will be like the full-size XC90. Both of them might share some things for its outer part such as the similar design language. The difference is 2018 XC60 come as smaller version with more compact design so that the bodywork should be dynamic and attractive.
The larger footprint outside will give more space inside the cabin. It means that the legroom will be enlarged. What is more is some borrowed details from the bigger brother will be added such as better infotainment and entertainment system completed with soft upholstery. In addition, it will be a luxury crossover with Volvo’s Pilot Assist II to make it as a semi-auto car called 2018 Volvo XC60.
From the testing model, it is using T5 gasoline that you can expect for its outstanding performance. They will use 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine to produce the amount of output about 254 hp. It also has stronger unit that could be T6 plug-in hybrid. It will be used for the higher model of 2018 Volvo XC60 with the capability to deliver about 350 hp. Rumors also indicated that the Swedish automaker has a plan to release Polestar model and they will use an engine that is capable to provide more than 400 hp. Speaking about the drive system, it might go with standard front and optional all-wheel. On the contrary, there are a lot of rumors mentioned about the same engine to use which is Drive-E with four-cylinder units as the options. For less power, it might go with 2.5 liter Drive E.
Release Date and Price
The official presentation is still far away from now. But, there are many speculations that this interesting crossover will come out after 2017. Although the crossover is still under the development soon it will be presented in form of concept. We don’t expect major changes outside and inside so that the cost should not be too far from the previous model. The previous price tag was $37,000. It will be the true rivals for BMW X3 as well as Audi Q5.
