The previous model of Audi Q3 was released in 2011 and at that time, it was a good small premium crossover with huge sale on its market. People admired its quiet cabin design as well as powerful engines. But, the coming of Mercedes CLA offered something much better with some newer features. Mercedes CLA was the winner at that battle. Now, Audi doesn’t want to lose their dominance. They are working hard for the life of 2018 Audi Q3 with mid-life facelift and all upgrades.

Design

So, the test mule has been seen and it was spotted with heavy camouflage at Nurburgring. It is expected to have better driving design compared to the previous model. The company doesn’t confirm this issue yet but we are pretty sure that it will use a modular MQB platform that is also used for Tiguan. We think this is a good idea to start its changes. It seems that they wouldn’t offer it as a seven seat car since they have the larger Q5 and Q7 models to complete that demand. What we want is a large weight loss and the all-new running gear to make it more efficient and comfortable as the new 2018 Audi Q3.

Audi will complete the cabin of 2018 Audi Q3 with more features to give better support for driver such as updated infotainment system and the enhanced comfort with the Virtual Cockpit display as well as multi-spoke steering wheel. There are six airbags along with air conditioner, electronic stability program and more head or leg room.

Engine

It is important for Audi to fix all current issues especially on its engine performance. The weakness of its current design is lack of fuel efficiency in their US model. Now, rumors mentioned that Audi will use three engine options. The base should use smaller 1.8 liter turbocharged mill to produce about 190 hp and this is the same engine as the A6. For the higher range, there will be larger 2.0 liter for 240 and 260 hp. Both engines will go with manual and front-wheel as standard. 2018 Audi Q3 for the most interesting part is the high-performance RS version will also come for US market with the engine that can be 2.0 liter turbocharged inline that is from Golf R but it is capable to deliver 350 hp and more than 300 lb-ft of torque. It is still hard to get known whether the all-wheel drive will be the standard or optional.

Release Date and Price

For US market, the starting price of 2018 Audi Q3 is about $35,000 and it seems that they wouldn’t cut the price down since Audi might release the smaller and cheaper version called Q2.
