2018 Nissan Leaf
If Nissan can chase the time and produce the new 2018 Nissan Leaf, then it will be the second generation. It is still a big question whether it will be the 2017 or 2018 model. Although it is still hard to be known, public knows well that the company is still working on the electric vehicle development with the capability to cover up to 200 miles even on single charge.
The first generation was started for its debut in 2010 and the slight facelift was presented in 2013. It is suggested to come with completely new and modern look without losing its original design language. The stylistic base that Nissan can use is Nissan Sway or IDS concept car and we are pretty sure that 2018 Nissan Leaf will carry over the five-door hatchback body.
2018 Nissan Leaf is predicted to come with significant changes. The cabin will be more futuristic compared to the previous model. We do are in a great hope that the car comes with smaller design in order to offer more luggage compartment capacity.
Let us take a look back to the first debut of 2018 Nissan Leaf with the affordability and the mass sales especially for EV model. In 2010, Leaf was presented with 75 miles and in 2013, it was increased by 83 miles and then for 2015, it gives temporary measure with the modification of 30 kWh of battery to use and this allowed the car to reach more than 124 miles without charge. Now, our big question is that whether or not they will update the current engine to deal with the rival that will be revealed for 2017 model. Bolt EV and Model 3 are coming out with more than 200 miles on single charge. If Nissan would offer the same range, it means that they should create more efficient electric motor or more capacious battery.
Release Date and Price
We think that Nissan has everything on their hands we only wonder what they are waiting right now. This electric car is still unknown for its release because no official statement we can get until today. Automotive experts only can predict that Nissan might offer the new 2018 Nissan Leaf in the beginning of 2018 or it can be earlier. With the new technologies especially for the batteries, we bet that the cost can be more than $35,000 and it will be the strong competitor for Tesla Model 3.
